Financial Data Analyst

• Paying $50ph + super
• Sydney CBD location with WFH flexibility provided
• 6 month temp contract with potential for extension

About the Role

Our client is a NSW government organisation based in the Sydney CBD. They are urgently seeking a Financial Data Analyst to come in and join their team on a 6 month temp contract with potential for extension.

Candidates must have

• Advanced Excel - Must be able to do Power Query
• Financial Data Integrity of Financial Reporting P&L, Opex & Capex experience
• Attention to detail
• SAP 4 HANA system experience

Key responsibilities:

• Financial Data Management: Maintain accurate, real-time budget and grant records to ensure financial data is documented, accessible, and audit-ready.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts by integrating divisional data to ensure organizational financial integrity.

• Performance Reporting: Analyse budget vs. actuals and produce variation and statistical reports to support executive decision-making.

• System Data Integrity: Manage the mapping and processing of transactions across multiple platforms to ensure 100% data accuracy between systems.

• Payroll Collaboration: Partner with People & Culture (P&C) to accurately calculate salaries for precise budget modeling and planning.

• Capacity Building: Train and guide staff on operating financial systems and interpreting complex financial reports.

• Stakeholder Management: Manage diverse and competing relationships in both internal and client-facing environments to align financial goals.

About You

You will be an experienced Financial Data Analyst with proven experience and reliability in previous roles.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Advanced Excel - Must be able to do Power Query
• Financial Data Integrity of Financial Reporting P&L, Opex & Capex experience
• Attention to detail
• SAP 4 HANA system experience
